helping the class of 2023 to dream big
We recently had the honour of hosting a career guidance workshop for the matriculants of Mqhawe High School and Mvaba High School from Inanda, KwaZulu Natal. The aim of the workshop was to assist matriculants in Inanda to make meaningful choices about their direction of study and to ensure that all learners, including previously disadvantaged groups, are given every opportunity to succeed.
The event was abuzz with excited energy from the bright young students who were keen to learn everything they could about their options post matric. The Central Applications Office participated in the event, providing guidance on the applications and acceptance processes for tertiary institutions.
We were fortunate enough to be joined by representatives from the Department of Higher Education and Training, University of KwaZulu Natal and Durban University of Technology who imparted wisdom on the critical role that education plays in paving a better future and as well as career options available to the the leaners. As the large majority of the learners were from disadvantaged backgrounds, we were highly appreciatvive of the role that the National Student Financial Aid Scheme played in helping the learners to understand how they could access higher education even if their parents do not have the financial means to pay tuition.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the statkeholder that participated in making this event such a remarkable success!
